APC APPOINTS HON. MUHAMMAD YAHAYA TAMBURA TO SCREENING COMMITTEE FOR RISING PROGRESSIVE YOUNG LEADERS FELLOWSHIP

The All Progressives Congress has announced the appointment of prominent party leaders and public officials to oversee the application review process for the APC Rising Progressive Young Leaders Fellowship (RPLF). Among those selected is Hon. Muhammad Yahaya Tambura, a seasoned technocrat and political strategist from Zamfara State, whose career spans both governance and grassroots mobilization.

Hon Tambura has played significant roles in the political landscape of the APC. He served as Director, Directorate of ICT and Data Management for the 2023 APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council in Zamfara State, where he was instrumental in deploying data-driven strategies to strengthen campaign operations. His political engagements demonstrate a consistent commitment to advancing the party’s vision through both technological innovation and grassroots organization.

Hon. Tambura was the Pioneer Director General of the Zamfara Information Technology Development Agency (ZITDA), where he has championed ICT development and youth empowerment. He established the Zamfara ICT Hub, advocated for the adoption of the Nigeria Startup Bill, and was recognized as Best ICT Promoter at the 2022 Pan-African Digital Summit on E-Government. His dual expertise in governance and technology positions him as a unique asset to the fellowship’s screening committee.

The Rising Progressive Leaders Fellowship (RPLF), delivered under the Progressive School of Politics, Leadership and Statecraft (PSPLS), is a flagship initiative of the APC Youth Wing. It is designed to identify and groom exceptional emerging leaders through a rigorous, immersive program that combines intellectual depth, practical exposure, and elite mentorship.

Hon. Tambura joins a distinguished roster of committee members including HE Elijah Onyeagba, Former Nigerian Ambassador to Burundi; Rinsola Abiola, Director General of the Citizen and Leadership Center; Hon Segun Olulade, Executive Director of Galaxy Backbone; Moremi Ojudu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement Southwest; Princess Atika Ajana, Executive Director of the North Central Development Commission; and Toun Okewale Sonaiya, Founder of WFM among many others. Together, these leaders will review over 1,700 applications submitted by young Nigerians nationwide.

The screening process will shortlist 350 candidates who will proceed to physical interviews conducted by former governors, agency heads, and senior leaders of the party. According to APC National Youth Leader Dr. Dayo Israel, the fellowship is structured to produce “a new cadre of high-value, governance-ready young leaders prepared for public sector leadership and national service.”

Hon. Tambura’s inclusion underscores the APC Youth Wing’s recognition of his political and professional contributions. His track record in campaign strategy, grassroots mobilization, and ICT-driven governance reflects the qualities the fellowship seeks to instill in Nigeria’s next generation of leaders.
